Where can hydro excavation best be employed?
The advantage of hydro excavation (in contrast to other excavation methods) is that it’s non-mechanical, so underground infrastructure such as gas and electrical lines, cabling and communications sub structures are not contacted mechanically, reducing the risk of damage.
It offers versatility, avoids the pitfalls associated with other techniques (such as air-blasting) and has the added advantage of using water as a lubricant, which helps to prolong the life of the excavation equipment by reducing wear on the vacuum hose and other components.
So? Where can hydro excavation best be employed?
Construction:
Commercial and industrial facilities along with residential infrastructure can’t be started if the ground is not properly excavated. Since most sites are quite large, the use of traditional methods such as a backhoe is time consuming – making hydro excavation perfect for both big and small jobs.
Plumbing:
Pipelines and sewers are mostly installed underground. To have effective, compliant subterranean work done (where soil needs to be excavated, hauled and restored), hydro excavation comes into its own.
Landscaping:
Environmental improvements through beautification work and the planting of larger trees and flora means ensuring as little disruption to the environment as possible. Since the point is to beautify the space, it would be a contradiction to dig carelessly and damage the area using traditional methods when hydro excavation can do the job seamlessly and with greater efficiency.

Whether it’s road signs, traffic lights, sign posts or sprinkler systems, they all need to be installed by excavating the ground. The use of high pressurized water to cut through soil and create accurate and precise holes makes for precise, time and cost saving efficiencies.
